Project Feedway.

Photographic equipment.

1. DSS PT aim to deliver a UOR capability to provide dismounted patrols with a camera system to identify areas of risk or threat located and obscured behind obstacles. The system will provide this capability by meeting the following User Requirements in lighting conditions 0.001-120,000 Lux.

2. Obstacle: That obstacle dimensions will be at least 4m high and 0.5m wide, and any increment, or combination of increments, to those dimensions.

3. Viewing Angle: The system shall give the User a viewing angle to the immediate front, sides and rear of the obstruction.

4. Viewing: A single User will be able to view a real time image of at least 640x480 pixels whilst simultaneously operating the system.

5. Identification: The system shall be capable of reading the print (red on green) on the side of an AA battery in either its vertical or horizontal aspect at a distance of not less than 5m. The system shall also be capable of recognising very thin wires at a distance of not less than 5m.

6. Weight: The system shall have a maximum weight budget of 3.5 Kgs.

7. Power: The system shall be able to be powered by current in-service batteries with a preference for AA primary or secondary batteries.

8. Recording: The system shall be able to record up to 16 Gb of HD (720p) to either UDMA, SDHC, Ms Pro, SD or MMC.

9. Support: The system shall be supportable for a minimum of 24 months after deployment.

10. Deployment: The system shall be able to be deployed and in use within 2 minutes of the decision to use the system.

11. Users: The system shall be able to be operated by no more than 2 persons whilst wearing normal combat clothing including gloves.

12. Signature: The system must not increase exposure of the User to enemy action during carriage and must present a minimal sign of presence when in use in all lighting conditions.

13. Operating Environment: The system shall comply with Def Stan 00-35 requirements, the system shall be able to withstand blowing particulate ingress of particle sizes less than 150 μm.

14. The system should not cause unacceptable interference to, or be susceptible to interference from, other electromagnetic equipment carried by Dismounted personnel.

15. For the purposes of the above requirements the system shall be defined as the patrol configuration and shall include all elements carried for a patrol covering both day and night activities.

16. The Authority intends to run a PQQ exercise and it is anticipated that PQQ's will be issued 23.5.2012. As part of the PQQ Bidders shall be required to attend and demonstrate their solution on Salisbury Plain Training Area on the week 28-31.5.2012.

17. The dates specified in section II.3 and IV are indicative and maybe subject to change.
