See II.2.4).
The Belgian nuclear research center in Mol, SCK-CEN, is one of the largest research centers in Belgium. It is committed, among other things, to developing peaceful medical and industrial applications of nuclear science. The company is located in the "nuclear" industrial zone of Mol-Dessel-Geel and close to the Bocholt-Herentals canal.
As part of the development of a medical campus in the SCK-CEN area, 1 radiochemistry center (CRF) is to be built.
The main objective of this facility is to produce and process medical radioisotopes in a GMP environment.
The installation will consist of different "modules" that will be made in phases and each will have its own specifications.
The following modules are provided:
- module 1 - production of radioisotope A (GMP),
- module 2 - laboratories (research and development) for nuclear activities (class 2),
- module 3 - production of radioisotope B (GMP),
- module 4 - treatment and treatment of radioisotopes (GMP).
