The banking operations of NRW. BANK has been successful for many years. In the near future, however, there will be new challenges and increasing demands on development banks: New promotional products and increasing demand require a higher rate. Expectations for the rapid implementation of new conveyor products are also increasing. In addition, the NRW. BANK - like most companies - faces the challenge of managing the demographics of the workforce while at the same time facing high competition for young talent in the coming years.
For this reason, NRW. BANK carried out the "Coaching Future" project in 2023. In it, the process organization of NRW. BANK in an Outside In View via external benchmarks and identified potential for process organizational improvements towards a best-in-class level. A rough roadmap was developed for the way to an optimized target image.
Against this background, NRW. BANK launches the "Future" programme, which implements the results of the "Coaching Future" project.

According to current plans, the external consulting firm will support the bank over a period of 12 - 18 months in successfully implementing the identified measures.
For this purpose, the activities listed below must be carried out by the external consulting firm during the program. The services and consultant profiles required in each case are specified by individual retrievals:
- Project management office in cooperation with the internal project management to establish a standing agile delivery and implementation organization
- Project work for the establishment of a standing agile delivery and implementation organization by one or two additional consultants
- Project management / project management office in cooperation with the internal project management to optimize essential funding and credit processes
- Project work to optimize essential funding and credit processes by at least two other consultants
- If necessary, operational support of the program management by an advisor
- Overarching coordination of the activities of the external advisors as well as case-by-case advice to the program management by a senior advisor / partner / expert
- Depending on the respective role, the persons employed have appropriate practical experience in the required activities and corresponding personal skills and knowledge
- The appointed persons face up to the discussion and represent and defend their recommendations in appropriate committees.
Emphases:
- Creation and implementation of detailed concepts for the establishment of a standing agile delivery and implementation organization and optimization of essential funding and credit processes based on the results of the preliminary project
- Contribution of expertise in the successful implementation of agile structures in various companies, esp. Companies in the financial industry (ideally development banks)
- Contribution of expertise in the management of classic and agile projects
- Contribution of extensive knowledge of banking processes in various companies
- Successful stakeholder management and successful handling of resistance in the context of transformation
- Integration into the project structure of NRW. BANK and support for internal project stakeholders
According to current planning, a four-month pilot phase is initially planned from the award of the contract (probably from week 2 2024) with the complete above-mentioned consultant capacity, which includes the first individual call-off.
The specification of the consultant capacity and the individual call-offs of the consultant capacities for the following project phases takes place downstream - depending on the experience gained in the first four months, the progress of the project and the available internal capacities. There is no minimum purchase obligation.
