In the present case, the client is tendering the implementation of the district management for the districts of old town and city center in Bergneustadt across Europe. The district management is to start its work in 2020.
The subject of the tender is the implementation of the urban development concept for the old town and city center districts. The development concept is of great concern to the population and local stakeholders. They support the project benevolently but just as interested and critical.
In 2018, the city of Bergneustadt had an integrated urban development concept drawn up for the old town and the city center. This essentially includes the renewal of the old town and an improved connection to the city center. The ISEK was decided unanimously by the city council in 2019.
The main urban development objectives are the creation of a new atmosphere that makes living in the historical structures interesting for new residents and target groups, the adaptation of the apartments and houses to today's living standards and the adaptation of the living environment and public space today's requirements under the aspects of family friendliness and accessibility in the interplay between history and modernity.
In addition, the economic framework conditions for the Bergneustadt city center and the old town as a gastronomic and tourist attraction are to be strengthened.
