The procurement of machinery included in the call for tenders is connected to the major overhaul of building maintenance technology in Oulu Laboratory Animal Centre. The procurement of machinery will be staggered so that the 0 floor (research unit) machines are renewed first, and 1st floor (barrier unit) machines after that. The projected schedule is as follows:

0 floor (research unit): Installation of the machines (cage washing machine, bottle washing machine, medium size autoclave) in June-July 2023

1st floor (barrier unit): Installation of the machines (cage washing machine, bottle washing machine, large autoclave) in November-December 2023

The cage washer is an electric, pass-through washing machine equipped with a drying function and designed specifically for the purpose of washing animal cages and cage racks.

A washing machine designed specifically for washing the polycarbonate and polysulphone drinking bottles of animals and their steel caps.
