The Government of Åland hereby invites interested tenderers to participate in this tender to operate ferry services between Svinö in Lumparland and Degerby on Föglö Åland. During the assignment period, the Contractor has full shipowner responsibility for the traffic and the Contractor shall operate according to the timetables established by the Client. The contract constitutes an operating contract, where the Customer provides the ferry, M/S Skarven and the Contractor is responsible for staffing, the daily maintenance work excluding spare parts and to operate the ferry economically so that fuel can be saved.

The contractor shall charge the customers in accordance with the customer's fee and booking decision. The income shall be transferred in full to the Client.

During the contract period, the customer may replace the ferry in order to renew the tonnage. Any change in staffing is then taken into account in the monthly cost and agreed upon by the parties.

The term of the agreement is forty-eight (48) months and one day with the Client's unilateral option of extension for one plus one year. The planned start of the contract is 29.2.2024 and the last contract date is 29.2.2028. Exact dates are regulated when the contract is signed. The customer must declare in writing the first option for a one-year extension no later than 11.03.2027. If the first option has been taken, there is a second option, for a one-year extension, which must be declared in writing no later than 10.03.2028.
