The Authority has a requirement for internal fire safety focusing on the 60-minute compartmentation, dampers and fire doors for the Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Mount Vernon Hospital. The scope extends to fire alarms at the Mount Vernon Hospital.
The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust:
• Fire Compartmentation – Reviewing and confirming the 60-minute fire compartmentation, ensuring all Fire Stopping within the walls have been rectified. This will include the entirety of the compartmentation wall from above the ceiling to below any false floors and ensure the compartmentation does not pose a compromise to the compartmentation. Full specification has been provided by Architect.
• Fire Dampers – Ensure all fire dampers within the ventilation system passing through the 60-minute compartmentation lines are to an adequate and suitable specification and installed in the correct manner. Specification attached and provided by MEP consultant.
• Fire Doors – All fire doors within the 60-minute fire compartmentation are not compromised and are either remediated or replaced, following the specification provided by the Architect.
Mount Vernon Hospital:
The scope for Mount Vernon Hospital includes the three aspects above for The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust but also extends to include:
• Fire Alarms: Ensuring the Fire Alarm system is to a L1 standard.
All works to be completed by qualified and competent persons. Architect and MEP consultants have provided the specifications to all above within the documentation. The use of incumbent suppliers will be expected for particular upgrades including, the Fire Alarm System.
