The Energy Networks Association's Open Networks Project is focussed on defining the Distribution Network Operators (DNO) transition to a Distribution System Operator (DSO) model and has been endorsed by the UK Government’s Smart Systems and Flexibility Plan.

The transition project will help progress this change by developing and demonstrating a ‘Proof of Concept’ Neutral Market Facilitator (NMF) Platform to test the operation of the market models being produced by the ENA Open Networks Project.

This element of the project is to establish the requirements, design and development of the neutral market facilitator platform, resulting in a procurable specification that can be used to tender the next phase of the project.

Scope is to develop a trial selection methodology which allows the selection of trial sites.

Development of the rules to apply to the market model identified from the output of open networks' future worlds consultation.
