The city of Pegnitz intends to build a new building and rebuild/renovate the Pegnitz sewage treatment plant.
On the basis of a rough cost estimate, costs of € 4.29 million net (KGR 300-500) are currently assumed.
For the planned measure, the following services are tendered to be awarded to a service provider:
- Project planning for buildings and interiors in accordance with §§ 33 ff. HOAI, Lph. 1-9;

- Technical planning of technical equipment in accordance with §§ 53 ff. HOAI, Lph. 1-9.
The milestones for the implementation of the project provide:

The city of Pegnitz intends to build a new building and rebuild/renovate the Pegnitz sewage treatment plant.
The Pegnitz wastewater treatment plant is a single-stage activated sludge plant that is operated in a continuous process with further wastewater treatment to eliminate carbon, nitrogen and phosphate.
The expansion size is 25,000 inhabitants. The sludge treatment is developed as a separate anaerobic sludge stabilization with its own energy generation from digester gas utilization.
The digested sludge is transported away for recycling after mechanical stationary dewatering.
In coordination with the calculation of the combined water treatment, the combined water inflow is increased from 143 l/s to 200 l/s.
At the Pegnitz sewage treatment plant, the rehabilitation of the mechanical stage, the construction of a new secondary clarification plant and further expansion measures are planned according to the following list:

-- Screening system: new rake, existing rake conversion for further use, adaptation of cross conveyors, channels, sand washers
-- Grease/sand trap: adjustment inlet
-- Preliminary clarification: Conversion of drain threshold and drain channel

-- Slurry pumping station: Renewal of return sludge pumps
