The Municipality of Gorinchem intends to purchase two electric ferries, including all accessories, by following a European Public Procedure. The municipality has several components to tender; two electric ferries, battery facilities in these ferries, loading infrastructure from shore to the ferry and adjustment of the mooring facility.

The intended commencement date of the agreement is late November 2020, after which the ferries will enter service in February 2022.

The municipality of Gorinchem intends to purchase an integrated system for electric boating and wishes to contract one party for this. The aim is to reduce operating costs and make the ferry service more sustainable.

For the municipality of Gorinchem, an integrated system for electric boating consists of:

• Two fully electrically powered ferries

• The necessary charging infrastructure and associated system

• Adjustment / renewal of the mooring facilities in question in the places served by these new ferries.
