The tender concerns the evaluation of the Academy of Natural Sciences. The Academy was established in 2021 with support from the Villum Foundation and the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
The Academy of Science was established in 2021 with support from the Villum Foundation and the Novo Nordisk Foundation. The common focal point of NAFA's three focus tracks is the work on a coherent capacity development in the scientific educational value chain between research, teacher education and practice in primary and lower secondary school. Capacity development is understood here in a broad sense as both capacity building and competence development.
The purpose of NAFA is to promote motivating and rewarding science education in primary schools through strengthened training of science teachers. The purpose is addressed through three main objectives:
That science teaching in teacher education is systematically based on science
and subject-didactic knowledge as well as current experiences from practice.
That new sustainable models have been developed for competence enhancement in science in primary and lower secondary schools that can
scaled in the form of a nationally coordinated tender.
That necessary knowledge about science didactics has been produced, which in interaction with relevant scientific knowledge is translated into improved teaching practice.
