Außenliegenschaften WestLot 4 comprises the outdoor properties Weststadttürme (WST), Weststadtcarreè (WSC), Altendorfer Str. 5-9 (A) as well as the property in the botanical garden of the Gruga. In the Botanical Garden of the Gruga, the Faculty of Biology occupies several buildings. Most of the area is occupied by greenhouses, which are not part of this cleaning contract. The cleaning job covers only a small proportion of the total area. The cleaning cycle here differs from that for other surfaces at the UDE.
KWI DivisionLot 3 comprises the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities (KWI) at Goethestrasse 31 in Essen. This is an interdisciplinary research college for the humanities and cultural studies. As an inter-university college of the Ruhr University Bochum, the Technical University of Dortmund and the University of Duisburg-Essen, the institute works together with the scientists of its sponsoring universities and with other partners in NRW and at home and abroad. In addition to the research work, lectures for the public are often held here.
In addition, there are seven small living areas in the KWI building, which are rented out to visiting scholars both on a short-term basis and for longer periods of time. These are also part of the cleaning contract, whereby in addition to regular cleaning in the event of a change of tenant, a basic cleaning must also be carried out.
