The specific aim of this contract is to design, develop and implement an exchange programme for coal, lignite, peat and oil shale regions. The overarching goal of the activity is that coal, lignite, peat and oil shale regions can benefit from the experience of their peers – in a way that is complementary to already existing forms of support – in order to implement a successful, ‘just transition’, compatible with EU energy and climate policies and providing a number of co-benefits to local communities in terms of new diversified, resilient economic models, new quality jobs, improved environmental conditions and air quality, etc.
This service contract will cover the design and setup of activities aimed at reinforcing peer learning and knowledge sharing as well as direct cooperation between stakeholders, to the benefit of coal, lignite, peat and oil shale regions.
The specific aim of this contract is design of the Exchange Programme, taking into consideration the following criteria, among others, eligibility, the preparation to the Exchange Programme, stages of the exchange process and the follow-up. The contractor is encourage to propose innovative and creative solutions in the design of the Exchange Programmes with the main focus on the energy transition and economic diversification of coal regions in transition.
