The subject of this award procedure is the necessary planning services for technical plants in accordance with HOAI Part 3 Section 2 §§ 53- 56 for the plant groups (ALG)

The currently fallow area of the industrial monument O1 in the center of the city of Eisenach, which historically results from the inner-city location of the former vehicle factory Eisenach, is to be renovated as a subsidized model project and converted into a 3-field sports hall for competition, school and club sports as well as an event center. The arena is to be designed for about 4,000 spectator seats. The hall must be suitable for the 1.Handballbundesliga.
Of the three-storey, approx. 70 m wide and 90 m long steel skeleton industrial building, built in 1933-34, a circumferential ring consisting of the listed existing facades (steel-clinker framework with steel window bands) and the first axis of the existing building is to be preserved. The new hall building is to be "placed" into this existing ring. (see Appendix Planning Concept)
The focus of planning should be on minimizing life cycle costs and achieving the greatest possible economically justifiable degree of energy self-sufficiency. The preservation of existing building fabric and the use of recycled material should also become part of the planning task in order to save embodied energy. As a result, the building should achieve the BNB-Silver standard. (see Appendix Task Planner Selection Procedure)
The present planning concept (see appendix) serves as a basis for further planning. The needs of the users are to be incorporated into this concept and optimization potentials are to be developed from this.

Initially, only level 1a is commissioned.
