The German National Library (DNB) intends to have archival materials digitised at its Frankfurt location. The scope of services includes the development of the digitization workflow by the contractor (Phase I) as well as the successive increase and ultimately under full load digitization (Phase II).
In the first phase, the contractor develops the digitization workflow, i.e. from the receipt of the materials to digitization, metadata generation, quality assurance, acceptance to the return and import of the finished digital objects into the customer's storage system, all steps are implemented, tested and optimized and approved with regard to the requirements of this service description (duration phase I: 3 months; Volume of titles to be digitized in this process: 500 sheets).
If Phase I is positively evaluated by the client, a second phase follows, in which the workflow is successively scaled to the full load to be achieved. A maximum of 2 months is scheduled to reach full load, after which routine operation will begin. (Duration Phase II: at least 12 months (depending on the duration of Phase I), of which a maximum of 2 months transition period until the daily quantity to be digitized is reached). The client has the right to terminate the project after completion of the first phase, provided that it does not end with a positive evaluation, without any further claims being derived from this by the contractor.
The services are to be provided on site at the client's premises. The client shall provide the necessary space.
Invoicing shall be carried out monthly on the basis of the results accepted by the Customer and delivered to the storage system by the Contractor.
