Travel agency services.

The AOK community consisting of 11 AOKs and 3 service companies is running a travel agency tender with the aim of finding a joint travel agency service provider for all AOKs involved. For flight purchases, travel agency services are to be provided primarily online with the corresponding fulfillment and, to a lesser extent, offline. The online booking system should be provided by the travel agency service provider. Optionally, a hotel portal with a payment function is to be integrated into the online booking system.

Before the corona epidemic, the annual travel expenses in the flight sector of the AOK community amounted to around EUR 1.7 million with around 7,000 transactions. Over 90% of these are domestic German flights and only in exceptional cases European routes. The booking is now made with various travel agencies both online and offline and in some cases directly with the airlines.

The start of the cooperation should be on July 1st, 2021. Due to existing contracts with different terms and notice periods, the full volume is expected to be reached by January 1, 2022.
