As a competent authority within the meaning of Regulation (EC) No 1370/2007 in accordance with Article 5 (1) VO (EC) No 1370/2007 in accordance with Article 5 (1) Regulation (EC) No 1370/2007 in accordance with Article 5 para. 1 PbefG, as of 1.1.2022, referred to in Regulation (EC) No 1370/2007 for a term of 1.1.2022 until 31.12.2031 in a competitive process. Transport performance is awarded in competition according to the provisions of GWB and Procurement Ordinance (VgV). The service contract covers bus services (CPV code 60112000) on the territory of the Merzig-Wadern district (NUTS code DEC02) for line R1 Merzig - Wadern.

The service includes the bus service of RegioBus line R1 in the district of Merzig-Wadern. The RegioBus line R1 connects the central center of Merzig with the basic center Losheim am See and the central centre of Wadern in daily daily cycle traffic.

To strengthen the R1 and to better reach the target group of cyclists, bike bus trips to the Losheim reservoir are offered. The travel times of these 5 pairs of trips per day on weekends and holidays are tailored to regional trains from Saarbrücken and Trier. The bike is carried out on a “piggyback carrier” between May 1 and the end of the autumn break. The “piggyback carrier” is dispensed with outside of the cycling season.

The output includes around 487,930 timetables per standard year and around 13,970 timetable hours per standard year.
