TNW_ELT_KJF_Sanierung & Extension BBW St. Franziskus Abensberg

The St. Franziskus Abensberg vocational school is a vocational school for special needs education with a focus on learning. The school is subordinate to the government of Lower Bavaria and is located in the Kelheim district. The St. Franziskus vocational school is located directly on the premises of the BBW St. Franziskus vocational training center in Abensberg. Together with the vocational training center, the St. Franziskus vocational school promotes the professional competence of the students for their future professional life and is a partner in the vocational rehabilitation and training process within the framework of the dual training system.

Due to the increasing number of students in recent years and the integration of the branch office for the BVJ vocational preparation year, additional classrooms are required at the St. Franziskus Vocational School. The existing school building is to be renovated in a timely manner and given a contemporary pedagogical orientation with a new extension. As part of this, the BVJ's previously spatially outsourced school operations are to be brought back to the St. Franziskus vocational school.

In a currently ongoing school development process, a sustainable educational concept is being developed together with the government of Lower Bavaria, which takes contemporary and innovative didactic concepts into account and is geared towards action-oriented, project-oriented, self-directed and social learning in the context of special educational support. The St. Franziskus vocational school would like to offer an inclusive learning environment even more intensively in the future with group-related and individual support measures. Further success factors for this are defined as interdisciplinary and cross-class cooperation between teachers, cooperation in an interdisciplinary team and a cooperative educational partnership with the training centers. And finally, the student body should be strengthened with support and counseling offers in order to master the problems and challenges of growing up and the professional environment.

The planning services of the service profile technical equipment (ELT), service phases 1-9, in the plant groups 4, 5 and 6, according to § 53 Paragraph 2 HOAI, in conjunction with Annex 15 No. 15.1 are commissioned in stages.

And finally, the student body should be strengthened with support and counseling offers in order to master the problems and challenges of growing up and the professional environment.

Existing school building:

The existing school building dates from the 1970s and is a reinforced concrete frame construction with stiffening corridor walls. The total of approx. 3,000 m 2 Gross floor areas are distributed over 2 floors. Of this approx. 1144 m 2 recognized as usable area subsidized by the school supervisory authority (HNF 1-6). The spatial structure of the existing building should be continued as economically as possible in a modern school organization. It is desirable to optimize the existing building from a pedagogical and functional point of view so that part of the additional areas approved by the school authorities can also be located in the existing building.

The current main access to the school is via the building of the BBW vocational training center, to which the school is directly attached. The spatial connection can and should continue to exist.

Various renovations have been carried out in the interior over the years. Technical and structural retrofits to meet fire protection requirements were implemented between 1998 and around 2,000. The flat roof of the building is currently being completely renovated.

The outer facade is designed with a striking brick clinker facade. The extent to which thermal renovation is necessary, sensible and possible here must be clarified in the project.

The renovation of the existing building is to take place during ongoing operations.

The energy supply and disposal takes place together with the BBW via its own energy center at the site. Approx. 85% of the heating energy requirement is covered by a wood chip biomass system and approx. 15% by an oil-gas boiler system.

Extension:

It is expected to be approx. 2,369 m 2 additional HNF 1-6 (DIN 277) funded by the government of Lower Bavaria. It is desirable to optimize the existing building from a pedagogical and functional point of view so that part of the additional areas approved by the school authorities can also be located in the existing building. The school authority will not accommodate any additional space in the building. The extension can be located directly next to the existing school building. The property is owned by the sponsor of the school, the Kath. Jugendfürsorge Regensburg eV

There are special requirements for a barrier-free design and modern school construction. The sports area has already been redeveloped and is not part of the measure.

The project is financed with public subsidies from the government of Lower Bavaria. For this purpose, a subsidy application must be submitted and the construction work must be carried out in accordance with the subsidy.

The costs for the renovation are estimated at approx. 2.8 million EUR gross (KG 200-700).

The costs for the extension are estimated at approx. 11.2 million EUR gross (KG 200-700).

The planning services of the service profile technical equipment (ELT), service phases 1-9, in the plant groups 4, 5 and 6, according to § 53 Paragraph 2 HOAI, in conjunction with Annex 15 No. 15.1 are commissioned in stages.
