As part of the Hospital Future Act (KHZG), the Munich Clinic (MüK) will set up and implement a major digitalization program with various different projects over the next few years. The budget, which is provided by the federal and state governments for digitisation on the basis of the KHZG, is subject to various requirements for the implementation and proof of the projects, which must be fulfilled. In addition, the specified period of implementation is limited in time, i.e. funding must be called up by the end of 2023 at the latest, and projects must be finally implemented by the end of 2024. For MüK, this means a comprehensive digital transformation, which, in order to be successful, requires detailed planning, a well-thought-out set-up of the projects and a rigid management of the projects.
****
In order to achieve these goals, a digital patient record should be introduced in order to adequately support optimized processes. This includes
- Introduction of digital nursing & medical documentation
- Introduction of a digital medication system
- Switching to mobile working (tablets) in everyday clinical life for doctors, nurses and therapists
****
The system to be introduced should be the leading application interface in everyday clinical practice for doctors, nurses and therapists and must enable integration or jumping off to all subsystems. While the existing HIS (Cerner) should remain the backbone, the goal of the MüK IT landscape includes a “best of breed” ecosystem of innovative software solutions around and in conjunction with the HIS.

The MüK is looking for an external overall project manager for the introduction of the "eCurve" across all locations and departments. This overall project manager is responsible for the entire project cycle from setting up the project, selecting suitable software in the bidding process, piloting and roll-out including customizing and comprehensive change management. The close involvement of the clinical staff both in the set-up and in the implementation of the individual project components is essential.
