Delivery of 12 solo low-floor fuel cell buses for WestVerkehr GmbH as part of the "1,000 fuel cell buses NRW" initiative.

WestVerkehr GmbH, based in Geilenkirchen, is a public transport company in the district of Heinsberg. The object of the company is in particular the provision of road and rail transport services and related services as well as the performance of other services of general interest in the district of Heinsberg. WestVerkehr GmbH is a 98% subsidiary of NEW Kommunalholding GmbH, whose shareholders in turn are the cities of Mönchengladbach and Viersen, the development company of the city of Mönchengladbach GmbH and Kreiswerke Heinsberg GmbH. WestVerkehr GmbH, as a municipal public transport company in the district of Heinsberg, intends to procure vehicles with hydrogen fuel cell technology for use in the existing express bus lines as part of the "1,000 fuel cell buses NRW" initiative. The vehicles to be procured must be offered in a continuous low-floor design. Delivery of the vehicles can take place from December 2023.
