The University of Bayreuth intends to procure a high-end device for fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS). This will be used for a wide range of applications, ranging from biochemistry and genetics to biomechanics, biotechnology and materials science. More specifically, the device is used to isolate large amounts of totipotent stem cells from a primary source for regeneration research.
