Description:
Tourist project development of the peninsula Pütnitz

The city of Ribnitz-Damgarten has acquired the former Pütnitz airfield from the Federal Institute for Real Estate and intends to develop the area for tourist use. Due to the historical use of the site, both the soil and the groundwater are contaminated with mineral oil hydrocarbons, PAHs and BTEX, among others. Based on previous research campaigns, a total of 41 problem areas were identified. Furthermore, there are extensive sealed surfaces on the former airfield site as well as buildings that were erected as part of the military use of the site. In the course of the soil, groundwater and building substance investigation put out to tender here, the 41 problem areas are to be examined in more detail on the one hand and a preliminary waste law characterization is to be carried out on the other hand for the sealed surfaces and buildings.

As a supplement to the existing groundwater measuring points, additional measuring stations are to be built. The location of the planned measuring points can be found in Appendix 3. The groundwater measuring points to be built are to be sunk up to a maximum of 10.0 m below GOK by means of screws, scraps and/or valve drills. The final depth depends on the aquifer floor and can therefore vary between 4.0 m and 10.0 m. The measuring points are removed above ground and must be secured by protective triangles. The drilling material resulting from the drilling cannot remain on site and must be disposed of professionally by the contractor upon proof. The approximately 10.0 m deep dry boreholes are to be expanded into DN 50 PVC groundwater measuring points. It is planned to expand the measuring points with 5 m PVC filter tubes (filter slide width: 0.3 mm) and 6 m PVC solid pipes. The annular space is to be filled in the filter area with a corresponding filter gravel aggregate and in the area of the solid pipe for sealing with swelling clay. The measuring point tubes are to be closed approx. 1 m above GOK and secured by means of a galvanized steel pipe (2") and a protective triangle embedded in concrete.

Following the expansion of the groundwater measuring points, the measuring points must be pumped to the absence of sand. Due to the contamination described above, the pumped groundwater must be collected and disposed of properly or alternatively it can be infiltrated via a mobile activated carbon filter in the area of the attachment points. The exact location of the groundwater measuring points must be measured by the contractor in terms of height and location. The height fixed points necessary for the measurement are to be determined by the contractor himself and the coordinates are to be queried from the corresponding cadastral authority. In addition to the construction of new groundwater measuring points, repairs must also be carried out at a number of existing measuring points. This includes retrofitting with cover caps, installation of protective triangles, recovery of obstacles from measuring points and similar work. The repaired measuring points are to be checked for functionality by means of short pumping tests and remeasured after repair.
