To improve regularity of the E6 over Kvænangsfjellet in winter time, it has been decided to carry out a number of measures along the existing road.

The work will essentially involve:

Construction of; Approx. 3 500 metres of milling lane, approx. 300 metres of column lane, 2 x box dams for slush avalanches, where the box dam has a footprint of approx. 100 m²., approx. 780 metres of new snow shields. Approx. 500 metres of new road light installation and approx. 500 metres of new emergency light installation.

Blasting work in connection with widening in curves and side rounding off approx. 37,000 fm3.

Railings: Remove approx. 5,000 metres of old railings and build approx. 4 000 metres of new railing.

Subdrains: remove approx. 200 metres of old drains and build approx. 280 metres of new.

Asphalting approx. 23 000 m².

New signage.
