The Awarding Authority shall procure two survey launches, with option for purchase of an additional survey launch. The vessels shall be professional working vessels which shall be a secure and good platform for surveying in Norwegian coastal and maritime zones, including polar waters.

The vessels shall be built in marine corrosion resistant aluminium and shall have equipment enable to resist the strains caused by operations along the Norwegian coast and Svalbard.

The survey launches shall be equipped with the latest generation multibeam echo sounder installed on the vessels. The contract shall also include adaptations for optimum installation and operation of the survey equipment. The Awarding Authority delivers the survey equipment to the shipbuilding yard for installation in accordance with given instructions.
