The client needs a service provider who manages the data centers and the associated IT infrastructure and provides various services in this context.
GKL operates a data center with its own backup data center in Hamburg and a data center in Munich. In addition, the buildings are equipped with a LAN. All infrastructure components and the required manufacturer support are procured and provided by GKL.
The data centers in Hamburg and Munich are connected to a redundant 1 Gbps connection in the core network. In addition, redundant Internet access is available at the data center in Hamburg, as well as Internet access for the Munich location. Internet access is only considered in the service description from the point of view of support, i.e. the contractor provides provider management at the time the company is taken over. The accesses are provided by GKL.
In time for the respective contracts to expire, the service provider must obtain offers as part of a general contractor and submit them to the GKL's decision. The performance features in the offers are at least as current or better. However, overperformance will not be counted separately in addition. After selecting the provider together, the general contractor concludes a corresponding contract and makes the lines/Internet access available to GKL.
