Construction of a surface seal and adaptation of degassing and surface water discharge at the Nauroth landfill
The waste management company in the district of Altenkirchen (AWB) operated the domestic waste disposal site Nauroth from 1973 to 2002. Approximately 2.1 million m³ of waste was deposited at the landfill site. The backfilling of the landfill was completed on 31.10.2002. For release into aftercare, landfill technology measures are still required as part of the shutdown, in particular the production of a final surface seal.
The call relates to the following work:
- Profiling and construction of a surface seal on the landfill site on an area of approx. 12 ha
- adaptation of degassing equipment (36 gas wells, 6 gas control stations) including condensate discharge,
- adaptation of leachate collection and control systems,
- adjustment of surface water collection and discharge as well as
- adaptation of landfill paths
The construction measures are planned to be carried out in the period 2022 to 2025.
