The government appointed a committee to review the dental health field on 12 August 2022. The committee must carry out a comprehensive review of the dental health service, including organisation, funding and the legislation including regulations and rights. In connection with the committee's work, there is a need to carry out a price survey, as well as a survey of the tender part of the dental health service. There is a particular need to investigate the price and market structure for the private dental health service. In addition to those with rights under the Dental Health Services Act, the county dental health service also treats adult patients. In some cases, the county dental health service is an important part of the population's access to dental health services, and in some places, it is the only dental health service available.

Data obtained as part of the assignment must be made available in its entirety to the committee for possible further analyses.

The results of the assignment are planned to be announced at the same time as the publication of the report to the dental health committee, i.e. by the end of June 2024. The contractor has the right to publish the results at the same time as the investigation at the earliest, and in any case from 1 July 2024.

The deadline for delivery of the final report is 1 September 2023.

The estimated value for the contract is from NOK 1,800,000 excluding VAT. The estimated value is not binding for the contracting authority.
