BTU employs approx. 1,700 employees and approx. 360 research assistants part-time and full-time at the locations Cottbus Zentralcampus (Platz der Deutschen Einheit 1), Cottbus-Sachsendorf (Lipezker Straße 47), Senftenberg (Universitätsplatz 1). Branch offices are maintained in Bad Saarow, among other places. The BTU is assigned to the economic key 1.5.
The employees work in chemical, electrical/electronic, biological and physical laboratories and mechanical workshops, at office workplaces and in skilled trades. The work in laboratories is characterized by constantly changing possible hazards due to new research work.
The average age of employees is currently around 47 years.
Among the employees are particularly vulnerable groups of people, such as pregnant women, young people and severely disabled people.
The contractor shall perform the duties of a company doctor for BTU employees in accordance with the Act on Company Doctors, Safety Engineers and Other Occupational Safety Specialists (ASiG) in conjunction with the relevant accident prevention regulations of the statutory accident insurance, in particular DGUV Regulation 2, with up to 518 hours of basic occupational health care. In addition, there is company-specific support with approx. 493 hours, including Investigations according to ArbMedVV.
At the request of the BTU, examinations must also be carried out in accordance with other legal provisions, insofar as they are necessary for occupational health assessment and care. In principle, these tests must be carried out within the framework of the period of use in accordance with DGUV regulation 2.
