HYBRID-ELECTRIC PROPULSION TECHNOLOGIES AND GENERATIONThe laboratory is dedicated to the technological maturation in the integration of hybrid-electric propulsion systems on aircraft with low environmental impact. It includes sections for the development of power control logics, aerodynamic and acoustic analysis for distributed propulsion and electromagnetic compatibility, innovation in the field of transmissions and gearboxes in new propulsion systems. Activities include a laboratory for certified dynamic testing and consulting in the aerospace sector, a Powertrains Lab for modeling and testing thermal-electrochemical hybrid propulsion systems with sustainable fuels, and a Digital Twins Lab for the digitalization of components and systems developed by CIG A02DA02CB7
HYBRID-ELECTRIC PROPULSION LABORATORYThe Laboratory aims to develop and integrate innovative solutions for power and thermal management (P&TM) in the field of the use of hybrid-electric propulsion systems on future aircraft. This laboratory focuses on the experimental validation of a hybrid-electric propulsion system with low environmental impact, with a focus on the thermal management system. Among the planned activities are the creation of prognostic algorithms for aerospace systems, adaptive control strategies for the reduction of power consumption, and the optimization of the integration of actuation systems. Laboratories are also planned for the modeling and simulation of components, actuation systems, and hybrid-electric propulsion systems, as well as functional and performance tests. In addition, the laboratory is involved in the development of simulation platforms for the analysis of aeronautical structures and components and the experimental characterization of advanced structures for the aerospace sector, including thermoactive materials and smart sensors. All laboratories will be engaged in the simulation of phenomena and in the digitization of results through the creation of digital twins of CIG systems A02DA081AE
SPACE LAB FOR EXPLORATIONThe laboratory will be dedicated to the study and research of solutions for the critical aspects related to long-term space exploration missions, with the aim of making them increasingly sustainable and autonomous from Earth. The laboratory will make use of traditional technologies contaminated by digital technologies. with the use of artificial intelligence, home automation, computing, electronics, virtual and augmented reality. These technologies, including their digitalization, will be developed and used to support the entire mission lifecycle, from design and construction to operational and CIG decommissioning phases A02DA0F773
