This is an invitation to a competition for the procurement of new blood culture system for the Department of Microbiology at Aker, the Norwegian Radium Hospital, Rikshospitalet and Ullevål. The procurement shall be a culture-based blood culture system for the detection of bacteria and fungi in blood and other body fluids / sample material and which is adapted to a large teaching hospital. The procurement will consist of both equipment and consumable materials (blood culture bottles etc.). OUS is located in several places and there is a need for 2-4 central monitoring stations with different number of blood culture cabinets / satellites related to them. It is desirable to have fast detection of positive samples with short time between sampling and the result being given to the prescriber. The system must be reliable, flexible and easy to use. The system must be capable of being networked and have the potential for central monitoring and be able to communicate with the laboratory information system (LIS) and other diagnostic equipment. Supplier must offer culture media for different types of microbes.

The procurement will consist of a blood culture system comprising 10 blood culture cabinets with 2-4 central monitoring stations and consumable materials (blood culture bottles etc.). In addition, the procurement includes the option of 10 blood culture cabinets with monitoring stations and service agreements associated with providing equipment.
