NHS England, Health in the Justice System (London) has commissioned integrated providers of Prison Health Care Services for three London prisons; HMP Wandsworth (Lot 1), HMP Pentonville (Lot 2) and HMP Brixton (Lot 3). The Prison Health Care Services for each site will include but not be limited to:
1. Primary Care GP and Nursing Services.
2. Healthcare Administration.
3. Mental Heath Services.
4. Sexual Health Services.
5. Clinical Substance Misuse Services.
6. Allied Healthcare Services e.g. Chiropody/Podiatry, Physiotherapy etc.
7. Optometry Services.
8. Pharmaceutical Services.
9. Dental Services.
10. Clinical Waste management.
11. Escorts and Bedwatches management.
12. Radiology Services (including radiographers, radiology and radiation protection advisor/s).
The Contracting Authority has awarded one contract for each of the Prisons (Lots 1 to 3 above) as a result of this procurement process.
The Intention to Award decision (following the Standstill Period) was published to relevant BIdders on 24.1.2014. The contracts for the services were signed, and therefore Award confirmed, in April 2014.
Contracts started on 1.5.2014. The contracts will continue for a minimum of 5 years (up to 30.4.2019) and will then be followed by 2 x 12 month optional extensions. Therefore the maximum contract length if both extension options are taken up is 7 years (84 months up to 30.4.2021). Contract values shown in this notice are for the full, extended, 7 year contracts.
