The property Karlstraße 20 and 22 is located in the Munich district of Maxvorstadt, parcel numbers 5638 and 5637, district of Munich. The buildings are built to the south border, in the north there is a narrow strip of land, which is accessible via a passage.
The buildings from 1928 were originally designed as residential buildings. In 1933/34 the conversion took place for office and administrative purposes. After war damage, the buildings were renovated in 1947 with simple means.
The two buildings are listed both as individual monuments and as an ensemble in the list of monuments.
The buildings are a four-storey gable roof building consisting of basement, ground floor, 1st to 3rd floor and largely converted attic. The construction is a masonry building with wooden beam ceilings and wooden roof truss.
