The subject of the order is the renewal of the existing underfloor wheelset lathe, type Hegenscheidt 104 S in 2-column construction, built in 1984. This is a conventional underfloor lathe with copying templates. A wheel set can be machined without removing it from the vehicle. This is to be replaced by a modern underfloor wheelset lathe that not only meets all current requirements in terms of occupational safety, quality, processing times, availability and costs, but is also geared towards future requirements in terms of its overall design.

An economical CNC underfloor lathe is to be procured that has a high level of utilization, a long service life and low maintenance costs. Since new wheel profiles can currently only be rotated with new templates and, due to the advanced age of the machine, there is a high susceptibility to failure and the incipient obsolescence of various components, the underfloor wheelset machine has reached its technical and economic limits or has already exceeded it.
