The aim of the tender is to conclude a framework agreement with a basic term of 2 years starting on February 1, 2021 as well as 2 optional extensions for a further year starting on February 1, 2023 and February 1, 2024.

The content of the framework agreement is the retrieval and purchase of mobile devices from the manufacturer Apple as well as the provision of associated service and support services. The specific quantities and requirements for deliveries and services are detailed in the tender documents.

With the digital pact, the German Federal Government and the German Bundestag announced their intention in 2018 to support digitization in the roughly 40,000 general education schools in the Federal Republic with EUR 5 billion. In mathematical terms, this means that each individual institution accounts for an average of EUR 120,000. The Free State of Bavaria is also supporting the administrative expenses with EUR 212.5 million in state funds for IT equipment. The infrastructure measures are embedded in an overall educational strategy: They go hand in hand with targeted media skills promotion and comprehensive teacher training.

As part of the inclusion of media education in the education plans of the State of Bavaria, the Schweinfurt District Office, in its function as school authority, will gradually equip the individual schools with modern, digital media (devices) in the coming years. The procurement of mobile devices from the manufacturer Apple and accessories are of particular importance.
