Energie Thun AG intends to supply the Thun region with CO2-neutral waste heat from the AVAG waste incineration plant in Thun. For this purpose, a total of 2 pressure boosting systems are to be created, which raise the pressure level for the district heating networks (line 1 and line 3).
Line 1 of the district heating network is intended to develop the Westquartier, Hohmad, Neufeld and Dürrenast areas. Line 2 supplies the area around the hospital and line 3 of the district heating network is intended to supply the nearby municipality of Uetendorf with heat.
The strings are created in parallel, but handled in separate projects. The planner for lines 2 and 3 including the pressure booster station and house connections is Eicher & Pauli AG in Biel. Line 1 is managed by Durena AG.
The aim is to supply the first customers in Thun and Uetendorf with district heating in 2021.
