The Deutsches Museum Nürnberg - the Museum of the Future - is a branch of the Deutsches Museum of masterpieces of science and technology. The Deutsches Museum Nürnberg in the Augustinerhof, in the middle of the old town of Nuremberg, was opened in September 2021 and has already welcomed over 30,000 visitors to date.

The exhibition area of approx. 3600 m2 is distributed over 4 floors and has in detail the entrance area on the ground floor, the exhibition themes 'Work and Everyday Life', as well as 'Body and Mind' on the 1st floor, the themes 'System Earth', as well as 'Urban Life' on the 2nd floor and the theme 'Space and Time' on the 3rd floor. On the 3rd floor there is still a library and a holodeck.

The exhibition lighting serves in the exhibition areas from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor both as basic lighting and as object lighting.

The exhibition lighting is to be rebuilt in its wiring, structuring and operability in such a way that the entire lighting system functions trouble-free and the technical staff of the museum is able to operate the lighting system and the lighting control independently and can also make adjustments or changes there. Technical personnel should be able to replace or insert luminaires into the system. The exhibition lighting is to be structured in such a way that future extensions and conversions are possible with as little effort as possible. Non-technical staff should be able to operate individual areas of exhibition lighting via standard end devices (e.g. tablet, laptop) and simple front-end user interfaces (e.g.APP, web-based).
