An Insurance Framework for District/Non-Metropolitan Borough Councils, National Park Authorities and Members of the South West Advantage Procurement Club.
The Framework will provide general insurance cover requirements for the above Authorities. These requirements will be divided into 9 Lots as described under Annex B of this contract notice.
Insurers may apply to be appointed to the framework in respect of one or more Lots, or all of the Lots listed. The framework will be established for a period of 4 years and the first insurance cover awarded under this framework is likely to incept on 30.9.2010.
It is anticipated that there will be a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 10 insurance companies appointed to the framework in respect of each Lot.
Once insurance companies have been appointed to the framework, eligible members will be required to seek insurance quotations from all appointed insurers for the Lot or Lots relating to the cover they require.
This competition does not include any requirements for insurance broking or consultancy services and is open to insurance companies authorised to provide insurance cover in the UK under the Lots detailed. It is envisaged that each insurer will provide claims handling services within the premium terms that they submit and that there is no requirement for any separate contracts for claims handling. Where an insurer requires claims handling to be provided by a separate organisation the insurer is required to submit a separate application from their selected partner organisation as part of their application.
