PURPOSE: Updating the communication equipment in the zonal dispatching.

The current solution (IDECS system from Selectric) dates from April 2017 and the control consoles are in need of replacement. In the light of technological evolution, however, it is not appropriate to fully commit to an update of the IDECS system. There are currently better alternatives available that are also more budget-friendly.

That is why we propose to invest limited in keeping the IDECS system operational and to use it as a backup system in the future and to switch to a cloud-based platform for communication in the zonal dispatching.

The content of this assignment therefore concerns a cloud-based platform that will form the basis for radio communication from the zonal dispatching.

A cloud-based communication console is not limited to one physical workpost as is currently the case with the current infrastructure.

The zonal dispatching must have one console per workpost. Currently, there is only a console for three out of five workstations. We want to use these existing consoles as a backup system in the future and we want to provide a future-oriented and scalable system for every workpost.
