The subject of the award procedure is repairs to the corrosion protection coating on the substation (OSS) of the offshore wind farm Global Tech I (GTI).

The construction of the GTI wind farm, which consists of eighty 5 MW offshore wind turbines and the OSS, was completed in 2014. The wind farm is located about 110 km north of Cuxhaven in the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the North Sea. The OSS, located in the middle of the wind farm, was built in May 2013. The dimensions of the topside of the OSS are 42 mx 42 m. It is based on 4 legs and is located at a height of 21 m above the water level (LAT, water depth approx. 40 m). The boat landing for the CTV transfer is located on the east side of the OSS and includes the so-called staircases as well as the upper, middle and lower boat landing platforms connected to the legs below with the associated ladder corridors. On the west side there are further CAT platforms for access to the submarine cable entrances (so-called Cable Access Towers = CAT).
