Delivery and commissioning of a mass spectrometry platform.
The proposed mass spectrometry platform is to be used in the newly established "Center for Structural Mass Spectrometry" (CSMS) for protein structure analysis. The devices are to be used in cooperation projects with working groups from the Faculty of Science I and the Medical Faculty of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg as well as within the GRK 2467 "Intrinsically Disordered Proteins - Molecular Principles, Cellular Functions and Diseases" for the analysis of three-dimensional protein structures and the Investigation of protein-protein interactions can be used. The two LC / MS systems must meet all the requirements for robust, high-throughput analysis of proteins. There is a clear division of tasks for the two requested ion mobility Q-TOF mass spectrometers with nano-HPLC systems in CSMS: One LC / MS system is intended for cross-linking / MS experiments, a second LC / MS system for H / D exchange experiments can be used. Complementary data for the three-dimensional structural analysis of proteins and protein complexes up to system-wide protein network analyzes can be obtained. The establishment of the CSMS strengthens the research focus on protein mass spectrometry at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.
The award comprises 2 pieces of ESI IMS quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometers; 2 pieces of UHPLC systems and a piece of high-performance computer.
