The delivery concerns:
Upgrade and further development of our on-premise OpenStack system.
We would like assistance with the following type of assignments:
- Planning and implementation of an upgrade of OpenStack version.
- Examine systems for helping us to move from Centos to RHEL8 or Ubuntu
- Examine systems and, if possible, help us move from a container based OpenStack environment
- Streamline the initial OS installation on only-metal servers
- Convert Puppet based environment to Ansible
The upper number of hours for the assignment is 600 hours + up to 600 hours = 1200 hours.
The Norwegian Meteorological Institute has committed to establishing a separate on-premise cloud infrastructure, where the OpenStack service is a central part.
The latest version of the system was completed a year ago, and very many projects are in the process of moving central and partly vital services for society into the system.
We have several internal resources that operate and develop the service, but need to strengthen capacity and competence by hiring a resource. The resource will work together with our own OpenStack people and will sit in immediate proximity to them.
