The science city of Darmstadt intends to replace the main building that was built in the 1970s and its extension with a replacement new building, as the two buildings can no longer meet the needs of the current educational concepts. The space required for this new building has a program area of approximately 3,000 m².
The existing specialist class wing was built in the 2000s and will continue to exist in order to support the school in the field of natural sciences. As before, the existing building will be connected to the future new building via the two-storey, glazed connecting part.
On an area of more than 6,000 square meters on three floors and basement, classrooms and specialist rooms, service rooms, corridors and sanitary areas are to be created for around 650 pupils as well as their teachers and pedagogical leaders.
Object of performance:
430 ventilation systems
Task
The new building of the Bertolt-Brecht-Schule is to be a modern, innovative, energy-optimized building. For technically flawless and safe operation, it is absolutely necessary to equip the building with ventilation systems.
431 Ventilation system
For the new building of the Bertolt-Brecht-Schule, decentralised supply and exhaust air units, including heat exchangers and heat exchangers for vertical installation in front of the parapet, will be provided for ventilation in the classrooms and course rooms.
In addition, a central supply and exhaust air system with heat recovery is provided for all sanitary rooms / technical rooms and internal permanent lounges, which will be accommodated on the roof for outdoor installation.
Furthermore, the battery room in the basement receives separate ventilation, whereby the necessary air exchange is implemented via raw fans.
434 refrigeration systems
For the new building of the Bertolt-Brecht-Schule, air-conditioning-split-cooling is planned to cool the four computer rooms. Furthermore, a separate outdoor unit is provided for a duct cooler in order to ensure the necessary lower temperature for the supply air supply of the auditorium by means of source air diffusers.
