Swissgrid is constructing a new GIS 220 kV building within the perimeter of the current Chamoson substation.

The purpose of this procedure is the following structural work:

- site installation as well as security measures;

- partial demolition of the 220 kV AIS fields;

- new construction of a GIS 220 kV building in the middle of the existing site, excavation work, bored pile work in reinforced concrete, exterior fittings;

- new construction of foundations for electrical appliances;

- earthing system;

- new construction of cable blocks;

- new construction of a foundation for the fence.

During construction work the following conditions must be observed:

- distances and barriers for work near 220 kV voltage;

- only one field can be out of service;

- construction machines with height limitation.
