Klinikum Hersfeld-Rotenburg is an association of 8 health facilities under municipal ownership.

As part of a comprehensive strategy for the future, acute medical care offers are now to be concentrated at one location — the Bad Hersfeld Hospital. Extensive structural measures in various stages are necessary for this. The medical conception assumes about 40,000 m² of NUF and 650 plan beds. The services advertised here are intended to determine the need for new construction and renovation and implemented gradually over the next 10 to 15 years. Following target planning, the construction of a new functional and nursing tract with a redesigned main entrance to the hospital is to take place as the 1st BA for around €100 million. The construction site is topographically difficult due to the slope.

The total costs are estimated at €150 million.
