The RDW needs a framework agreement with one tenderer for the supply and maintenance of the VIN impact equipment. VIN stands for; Vehicle Identification Number. Hereafter 'VIN'.

VIN impact devices are used by the RDW to stock up on pre-programmed numbering on frames of a vehicle. It is the "fingerprint" of the vehicle. These numbers are relevant to the vehicle with which an identity is issued on the frame of the vehicle.  This number is affixed to various parts of the vehicle that are made of iron, steel and/or aluminium and is punched or engraved in a fixed part.

In addition to the manufacturer of the vehicle, the RDW has the exclusive right within the Netherlands to apply a VIN to a vehicle.

The RDW wishes to contract a supplier who can supply this equipment including the necessary software for the RDW and can also maintain it during the term of the agreement.

RDW wishes to be offered VIN impact equipment that is suitable for striking a VIN on all common vehicles in the Netherlands.

The devices to be offered can be divided into 2 categories;

1. VIN impact equipment large (wired variant) – especially for passenger cars, trucks and Slow Moving Vehicles (LRV).

2. VIN impact equipment small (battery variant) – especially for mopeds, mopeds and oldtimers. By a small variant, the RDW means handy weft equipment that can be thought of portable equipment that functions on batteries. This is in contrast to current devices.

In addition, the supplier will be responsible for preventive and corrective (on demand in case of calamities) maintenance.
