The state capital of Hanover (hereinafter “LHH”, “awarding authority” or “client”) intends to award services from the service models outdoor installations and property planning and has therefore initiated this tendering process.

In view of the urgently needed climate protection and climate adaptation measures and to increase the attractiveness of the city center, LHH intends to initiate an innovative and comprehensive program for green the roof and design of new living areas within the LHH center. Extensive green roofs with primarily ecological functions, intensively designed roof gardens with a wide range of recreation, games and sports facilities, and facade greening (hanging gardens) are to be implemented. The planned greening measures serve the purpose of heat and heavy rain prevention,

rainwater infiltration and evaporation (cooling), the promotion of species protection and

biodiversity and increasing the city's attractiveness by creating new accommodation and leisure activities in the city center.

The content of the following call for tenders is the planning services for transforming the top parking deck of the Schmiedestraße car park into a publicly accessible roof garden with intensive, natural greening and a high quality of stay, various open spaces that are open to use, and sports and games.

The aim is to set an impetus (pilot project) for further roof and land greening of other properties in the city center by implementing the project.
