Consulting services on the selection and introduction of a warehouse management system in the German National Library

The German National Library needs expert advice on the selection of software that will further develop the warehouse management of its heterogeneous holdings in all directions in a future-oriented, effective and resource-saving manner. Furthermore, the introduction of such software in conjunction with the procurement of modern, system- and process-compliant logistics hardware by the contractor should accompany it.

The advertised scope of services includes: consideration of the division of labor organization as well as the business processes, final development of a cross-location target concept for the internal processes; Requirements definition for a warehouse management system and logistics hardware to be procured at both locations, which are in particular differentiate between the system and construction; Preparation of tender documents/specifications; assistance in the awarding of contracts; Implementation accompanying project management and quality assurance in the realization of the selected software and hardware; Supervision of commissioning with laboratory phase and training measures; Accompaniment of the acceptance with performance and functional tests; retrievable consulting services in connection with the introduction of a semi-automated warehouse (e.g. with AGVs) in connection with a future magazine extension in Leipzig.

A sufficiently qualified representation must be guaranteed in the absence of the assigned consultant. All reports, documents, presentations and drafts prepared within the scope of the order must be made available to the client in a suitable form. Approaches resulting from the process are subject to the unrestricted right of use of the German National Library.

A complete logging as well as if necessary. the submission of interim presentations must be planned by the contractor.

The kick-off meeting for the start of execution of the consulting service is to take place in week 37 / 11.09. - 15.09.2023.
