All permanent and temporary works associated with Carriageway widening along the Falls Road and Andersonstown Road between the Whiterock Road and Finaghy Road North junctions to facilitate implementation of the Westway Belfast Rapid Transit Network. The new cross-section will include 2 inbound and outbound lanes. nearside lane is for the main part a dedicated BRT lane. Existing drainage networks will be upgraded to include kerb inlet gullies, reducing carriageway ironworks and improving bus ride quality. The scheme will also include construction of retaining structures, alterations to areas of existing granite paving and kerbing, upgrading of signage and traffic management arrangements in Belfast City Cemetery as well as the upgrade of a number of major and minor junctions and controlled/uncontrolled crossings. The work will also require diversionary work to underground services and some tree planting.
