The Agency would like to engage with a single organisation to:
— Work with National Careers Service Prime Contractors to identify additional careers information and resource requirements to support the delivery of the Service within in custody to staff and prisoners;
— Develop careers information, resources and understanding of the National Careers Service offer in prisons to increase engagement with offenders;
— Create and deliver a flexible and responsive training and development package for National Careers Service staff in custody which reflects the information, advice and guidance requirements of prisoners and develops skills required on release;
— Develop careers advisers' awareness of the potential and possibilities offered by the Virtual Campus in custody and in the community by sourcing and developing enriched and interactive content. The contractor will need to ensure that content meets the relevant security and assurance requirements;
— Increase effective use of the VC as a guidance tool, engaging and motivating customers through individual and group delivery;
— Identify and source the best quality careers resources and materials currently available to support and provide a clear, comprehensive and accessible guide for people in custody, their mentors, teachers, Employment and Benefit Advisers, and IAG professionals;
— Carry out research with prison libraries and learning centres to establish the range, type and quality of careers related information materials currently available to customers;
— Work with stakeholders and professional organisations to research good practice in supporting people in custody, and appropriate resources for preparing for entering into employment.
