The framework agreement will allow NHS organisations to procure a supplier who can design, build and equip a SSD and subsequently maintain the facility and its equipment under a managed service contract. Suppliers may provide finance to the NHS organisation for the design, build and equip of the SSD, as well as ongoing provision of appropriate facilities management.

Lot 1 will enable clients to contract for the design, build and equip of a new facility from which decontamination services would be provided; and optionally obtain a managed service for ongoing facilities management and maintenance of the new building facility; and optionally obtain a continuing managed service for ongoing maintenance, availability and renewal of the decontamination services machinery, equipment and surgical instruments and supplies.
Suppliers appointed to Lot 1 must be able to deliver all of the elements within that lot. Details of the precise elements to be delivered in a call-off contract will be specified at call off contract stage.
Lot 2 will enable clients to contract for the design, build and equip of a new facility from which decontamination services would be provided with the supplier providing finance to enable the design and/or build and/or equip of the new facility; and optionally obtain a managed service for ongoing facilities management and maintenance of the new building facility; and optionally obtain a continuing managed service for ongoing maintenance, availability and renewal of the decontamination services machinery, equipment and surgical instruments and supplies.
